Drawing for beginners

The first few lines are always the hardest, but it gradually becomes easier to create clear drawings on paper. This course teaches you how to see like an artist. Once you learn to see clearly, then it becomes easier to draw. The lines fall into place.

Over 8 weeks, this course trains your eye while introducing you to various techniques. We'll use Chinese ink, pencil, pastel, charcoal and chalks. Each different medium lends itself to learning different techniques. Together we'll discover the importance of light and shade, the distinction between line and shading, the importance of composition.

Courses begin throughout the year. Classes take place twice a week from 6 pm to 8 pm in my studio. (See How to find me for directions).

You can either pay for individual classes which cost £-- per session (materials included) or for a whole course at the discounted price of £--.

There are a maximum of 8 students in each class.
